Diagnostic Cardiology Center Opens in Newport News

Dr. Hugh McCormick is now seeing patients at the Tidewater Medical Center in Newport News as well as the Tidewater Medical Center at New Town. The new Cardiovascular Diagnostic Center is at 860 Omni Blvd, Suite 209, Newport News on the first floor between the TPMG Sleep Health Center and TPMG Orthopedics, Sports Medicine, and Foot & Ankle office.

TPMG Welcomes New Physician

TPMG proudly welcomes Dr. Hugh McCormick Jr., a cardiologist well known to the Tidewater area.

Dr. McCormick graduated from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey. He completed his internship, residency, and fellowship training at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda Maryland, and the Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC. He is Board Certified in Internal Medicine and Cardiovascular Diseases. He served in the U.S. Navy Medical Corps as an assistant to the Attending Physician, U.S. Congress, as a member of the teaching staff of Bethesda Naval Hospital, and as the chief, Division of Cardiology Naval Regional Medical Center, Portsmouth, Virginia.

As a founding partner of Hampton Roads Cardiovascular Associates, and former President/CEO of the Cardiovascular Center of Hampton Roads, Dr. McCormick comes to TPMG with more than 45 years of experience and a long history of community service. He has been affiliated with Riverside Regional Medical Center, Walter Reed Hospital, Sentara Careplex Hospital, Mary Immaculate Hospital, and the former Williamsburg Community Hospital. He is a Fellow in both the American College of Cardiology and the American Heart Association, and has been active with the Heart Association on the Peninsula as a Past President, and as a board member.

Dr. McCormick sees patients and operates TPMG’s Cardiovascular Diagnostic Center located in the Tidewater Medical Center in Williamsburg at New Town.


TPMG Welcomes New Physician at New Location

TPMG is proud to announce Dr. Rajinder Singh. Dr. Singh is Board Certified in Neurology. He completed his neurology residency at Eastern Virginia Medical School and Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship at Wayne State School of Medicine in Michigan.

Prior to joining TPMG, Dr. Singh has been in private practice in Newport News, Virginia for almost 14 years and prior to that he has worked at the VAMC and Neurology faculty at Eastern Virginia Medical School for 9 years. He also did his post doctoral fellowship at John Hopkins School of Medicine. His special interests include migraine headaches, movement disorder, multiple sclerosis, dementia, and epilepsy and stroke management. He has special expertise in clinical neurophysiology including EMG and EEG and Botox. He treats patients with Botox for the following neurological disorders: chronic migraine headache, cervical dystonia, post stroke spasticity, hemi facial spasm, blepharospasm and hyperhidrosis.

Dr. Singh is currently seeing patients at our new Peninsula Neurology location adjacent to Mary Immaculate Hospital.


After Hours Care

TPMG Announces New After Hours Care Facility

TPMG would like to announce our new After Hours Care Clinic. The office is located in the same facility as Hidenwood Family Medicine. The hours are 6pm - 9pm Monday through Friday and 9am - 6pm on Saturdays and Sundays.

TPMG After Hours Care serves patients who need care outside of the physicians workday hours. The facility offers the care of a family medicine practice. After Hours Care also provides care for sprains, lacerations, acute injuries and illnesses as well as offering X-ray and EKG services. Our staff will also provide visit information to the patient’s usual physician for follow-up care.
