The TPMG Williamsburg Specialty Center and Colonial Surgery offices are now open at 105-B Bulifants Blvd in Williamsburg. This new location is just off of Mooretown Road less than one mile East from the VA-199 overpass near Lightfoot. Along with Colonial Surgery, Urology, OB/GYN, Gastroenterology, and Nephrology physicians are seeing patients at this new office. (Click here for directions)

TPMG - Digital Mammography

The TPMG Imaging Center is pleased to announce our implementation of a state-of-the-art full field digital mammographic system from Hologic Corporation, a leader in women’s imaging. The transition from film screen to digital mammography at the TPMG Imaging Center on Omni Boulevard was completed on April 30, 2008.
Mammography is still the best method for the early detection of breast cancer. The traditional film screen mammogram has been limited in its ability to detect some breast cancers. A recent large multicenter clinical trial has demonstrated that digital mammography improves the detection rate in three groups of women. This includes under the age of 50, women with dense breast tissue of any age, as well as pre and perimenopausal women. Overall, this results in an improved detection rate for approximately 40% of the mammographic population.
